Sigh... today's evening discussion with the LM groups wasnt a very good day for me... perhaps i was too tired bah... then i was taking over the lappy to work on somethings.. i forget wad things liao... then when i take over the mouse.. i accidentally clicked the "X" button and it prompted me whether to save the changes anot...

Then at this moment.. everyone was "A.. A... A!! A!!!! A!!!!!"... i dunno is I panicked or dunno what i'm thinking... i quickly go click "NO" without considering... and the bad news were.... all of them told me that they havent save it yet~~~

Shak!!~ then the previous efforts were gone... sigh.. all my fault sia.. but i told them.. aiya... test you all see what you all have learnt lor... lolx.. and they were blaming me for it till end of discussions.. lolx...

But then after that they tried to amend it again and then quickly save the changes... and each time i'm taking over the lappy.. they will save save save save and save... >.<

But anyway... must quickly finish up the assignments... submissions are within this week... =((

Human Statues along Singapore Rivers

Just managed to download finish the high resolution pictures taken during the yesterday tour with Timothy... we were macham tourists yesterday.. holding on to cameras... camera stands... backpacks.. walking along from Bugis National Library to Victoria Theatrette.. Our intentions were to take pictures of Raffles Statues... and I meant the white colour one... because I already know the black colour one outside the Victoria Theatrette...

Initially Timothy told me the White Raffles Statue should be quite near to a museum nearby.. and we headed there as our first stops:

Singapore Arts Museum

Unfortunately, the white raffles was not there... but then we discovered there is another one standing on top at the front of the entrance. According to Timothy, he also got the same statue standing in his old secondary school.. St. Patrick School @ 490 East Coast Road.

That statue was the founder of St. John Baptist De Lasalle. There was a long descriptions from the following website: http://www.newadvent.org/cathen/08444a.htm and it is all about catholic religion... ^_^ Happy reading if you are interested..

The Arts House

Timothy recalled that his photography kakis took the White Raffles before and called to check with him... that guy guided us to North Bridge Road.. which is walking distances from where we are... so we slowing stroll towards that direction and Timothy took some pics of other historical buildings along the way.

And finally... here is the famous White Raffles Statue standing proudly along the Singapore river.. i think that was the same background if i can recall looking at it on the history textbook i have learnt during primary school.. all the while i was wondering where the hell it is.. and now it stands right in front of me... and Timothy took it with the SingTel buildings behind... I also didnt know there is a SingTel building there.. i tot it was a fake one from the F1 posters i saw when SingTel advertised as the sponsorer for the F1 GP...

Asian Civilisation Museum

We continued our shooting spree on the statues and shot quite a few along the side of the Singapore River when we head down towards the Victoria Theatrette to shoot the black Raffles Statue. We saw 2 sets of human statues along the way, and these 2 sets of human statues was actually a sculptor from different person:

The first one is sculpted by Malcolm Koh and it is a community project sponsored by ExonMobil. There is also a encrypted stone beside it saying these:

"Sir Stamford and Raffles wrote in 1819, 'Our object is not territory but trade, a great commercial emporium'. At the heart of the settlement's trade was the Singapore River. Lighter craft crowded the banks of the River along Boat Quay, and merchants had offices and godowns either here or a Commercial Square (Raffles Place). Early trade was in silk, cotten, spices and other exotic commodities, in the late 19th century, this shifted to rubber, tin and copra. European traders, like those here, profited from Singapore's trade but it was the Chinese traders, like the towkay holding an abacus, who generated the most wealth.

Providing much needed labour to the trading industry were Chinese and Indian coolies. Chinese coolies came from southeaster provinces of China, while Indian coolies hailed from South India. The Chinese coolie and towkay in this sculpture are identified by their queue, or pigtailm which the Qing authorities required all Chinese then to wear. When the Qing dynasty ended in 1912, queues where done away with. The Indian coolie wears the customary turbans. Life as a coolie was difficult. Coolies lived in cramped and squalid conditions, often with no proper ventilation or sanitation. Many a coolie ended his days in Singapore, alone and penniless, plying the trading boats that crowded the Singapore River.

Growing hand in hand with trade was the finance industry. The sculpture to the right encapsulates the dramatic changes that the finance industry has undergone from traditional moneylenders to today's stock market dealers."

The other was sculpted by Chern Lian Shan, also with a stone board crafted these words:

"Singapore's position as a centre for entrepot trade led to the proliferation of financial institutions. The settlement's first bank was the Bank of Calcutta, established in 1840. Financial businesses set up their offices near the Singapore River to be close to the area's many trading houses.

Early services were divided along ethnic lines. The moneylending business in the early days was primarily run by the Chettiars who came from South India. The Chettiars congregated at Market and Chulia Streets, and their offices were easy to spot. These usually comprised a clerk and a manager who sat behind a small low desk on a woven mat, as shown here. Clearing houses were the domain of the Chinese. Capitalising on abundant trade between Singapore and China, these companies thrived. Clerks, like this standing pig-tailed man, were a common sight as they bustled to and from offices in Commercial Square (Raffles Place).

Today, major local and multinational financial institutions provide a wealth of sophisticated financial services. On the trading floor of the Singapore Exchange almost everyday are hundreds of traders, whose distinctive jackets have become the symbol of economic growth. This tableau's lady trader hails the knowledge driven future, symbolised by the Millennium figure who leads the way into the Asian Civilisation Museum."

Phew!!~ enough of all the history of Singapore... there is also another two human statues along the track to the Victoria Theatrette, the statues potray the Warrior Official and the Civil Official during the several Dynasty in China.

Victoria Theatrette
Finally we have reached the theatre and took a few shots on the black Raffles... this is the replica of the white Raffles previously at the North Bridge Road... and that is the one i know... ^_^

Enough of that half a day being a tourist of Singapore... hopefully I may still find more human statues to display for my blog... i think there are still a few in Mt Faber... Labrador Park.. etc... Tune in for more HUMAN Statues of Singapore!!!~

Jun Xin's Bday @ Downtown East

Early in the afternoon, I met up with Zhutou, Mimo & XiaoXia for a lunch at Siglap... it was our favourite makan spot for the food there... then after that Zhutou and Mimo got to go to pasir ris to work on the OT assignment... So i went back home to work on my part as well...

Then after that at 6pm.. XiaoXia came over to fetch me.. and then fetch XiaoMei... and then to tampines there to fetch Mimo and Zhutou... They were suppose to be at Pasir Ris de.. but then there got no wireless... so they switched place to tamp... but then even worst.. there was a celebration party downstairs and super damn noisy... dunno how they able to concentrate... =Pp

We reached the downtown east chalet at about 7:30pm... then i actually illegally went into the chalet... i was actually changing the $2 notes into $1 coins so that i'm able to enter... when i turned back.. i saw none of them and all already went thru the gate... so i was queueing behind 3 persons when i saw them waving their hands asking me to go from another side.. After that then i realised i was walking in thru the exit gate... lolx... i went in blur blur and the guard also blur blur...
Anyway.. the guy standing on the left was the bday boy, Jun Xin.. he is actually easily over 180.. see how short am I and XiaoXia standing right beside him... JunXin suppose to stand in between us de.. but then it will even display how short we are... >.<

Then soon we reached the chalet and waiting for the cut cake sessions.. and started playing games... again on the "Ni Wo Ta" poker game with XiaoMei and out punishment was signing the words that they mentioned onto the hands...

The cut cake sessions delayed for quite awhile until 9pm... and soon after the sessions.. JunXin's relative went off without eating the cake.. i was quite stunned lor.. and some of the kids didnt even know it's JunXin's bday and one of them actually asking me.. "Is it your Bday today?" Wao kaoz... =pp

But then i think during the photography with the Bday boy.. the kids should already know whose bday liaoz...

Straight after some of the frenzy photo shooting in the chalet... Mimo actually suggested to play Mahjong.. and so we proceed to my place for a session... Daddy quite miss his daughter.. XiaoMei... and luckily daddy got a chance to see her... coz XiaoMei initially wanted to go off earlier... lolx...

A Day in Ang Mo Kio

Yesterday was a damn shag day... reached home at about 3am and slept at about 4am... then i didnt want to join the bball sessions with the guys... but i tell myself if i'm able to wake up myself.. then i'll go... and indeed.. the alarm still manage to wakes me up at 8am.. and then i just went down for the game.

I had a few games with the guys and those young kids from Springfield... haah.. we are too old to compare with the stamina they have... we lead in the first few points but was later over taken by them and they won us by a points... >.<>Dinner @ Ang Mo Kio Seafood Restaurant
After the boring LM lecture... it is the beginning of my Saturday!~ Even though i'm so damn tired... i still look forwards to celebrating Mimo's Bday!!~ I met her somewhere inside the sch and quickly rush to the bus stop to wait for XiaoXia's car... by the time we reach the bus stop... XiaoXia just niced make his U turn... hehe... and here goes our first programme!~

Very soon we reached the Seafood restaruant in Ang Mo Kio... this was the first time i came there to eat seafood.. according to mimo... the seafood used to be a corner store inside the coffeeshop.. and until today.. they somehow get very famous and transformed the whole coffeeshop into a seafood restaruants.... powerful ^_^ and even worst.. if we were slightly late.. it's gonna be an hour or so waiting time before we can get our seats...

The food we ordered came quick fast and just nice when we estimated the timing when the food came to out table... everyone was already on the table when the first dishes came... We ordered their specialist Crab Vermicelli & Black Pepper Crabs and also many other small dishes... and that sumptuous meals cost $240~ haha... at least still cheaper than the 8 tiger prawns from the Newton Circle there... =X

KBox @ Ang Mo Kio Ave 6
After the meal.. we went to somewhere near the Kbox there to have a desserts as the timing still early... over at the Kbox there... in order to save the $24 on the titbits.. i offered to sign up for the memebership for just $10... hiak hiak hiak,,, and the card was quite nice wor...

But still.. it was Mimo's bday.. so how can we miss out a cake?! haha.. and dun think she know that we ordered that cake in KBox itself... haha.. i wrote it here... so she'll know soon... =Pp

Actually havent been enjoying myself much since the beginning of school... all along rushing for lectures... tests... assignments... and soon will have exams.... >.<>

Zhutou came only after awhile.. wanting to give mimo a big surprise by bringing in the cake that we ordered... wahaha... i was surprised by myself too... she just suddenly appear.. and all our plans about pretending to be one of the waitress there didnt went true... haaha.. aiya... quite difficult to get a uniform from them anyway...

Finally the days end at about 2am plus plus... by then i already damn weak le... so i quickly go bath and ly on my bed... the whole day was in Ang Mo Kio... a place that I didnt really go there often... But still... Hope that Mimo did have a great day with us celebrating with her.. ^^ Happy Bday Mimo~

A song that spell out my feelings...

Recently happened to listen to a song from 罗志祥 in his new album of 潮男正传... and this song appears inside the taiwan series: 篮球火... here's the MV that I got it from Tudou.com.. The lyrics somehow spells out my feelings toward someone who are quite special to me.. I hope that she's able to listen to this song... but i know the chances are low... coz she dun have a habit to see blogs..

But anyway... Enjoy listening to it bah... ^_^

oh i believe cause i believe
那幸福不灭的定律
你的手心不一定要由我握紧
就像恒星总会有发光的原因
oh i believe 你值得被珍惜
也值得我放弃

Busy Me

It has been quite a hectic period for me... having 2 tests that cost 20% & 25% of the overall marks for OT & LM... fortunate to say that the paper for LM was kinda easy and straight forward..

I also noted that I havent been writing my blogs recently.. there always a saying around me about this phrase "Too many things yet too little time"... slowly realise that it is quite applicable for me as well...

Now the tests are over.. but i still got 3 assignments to rush and by then... i'll need to start preparing for exams liao... ^_^ have to face the stress somehow... why not make it a fun things.. (so fake) =Pp

Anyway.. I went to Suntec yesterday to do shoppings all alone.. luckily got my iPhone as my companion... from musics to movies during my lunch time... then while i was walking.. i suddenly thought of someone who mentioned about being independent... I used to have a concept that you will not see me alone outside... if I was to go out.. i'll sure find someone and if not.. i'll rather stay at home.. but then this girl told me that I should be independent to do things alone.. and not to depend on other ppl to do my own things... I guess now I understand what she meant that time.. and i'm now quite used to be alone at times... of coz must have my iPhone to keep me occupied... I still feel quite wierd seeing the restaurant table full of ppl except my table which i was alone.. i think sometime i may get used to it bah...

But still, my purpose to Suntec was to visit the Career & Job Fair 2009 which has Sentosa IR & Marina Bay IR job openning.. I went there to check out if there is any Marketing positions available.. I did found some interesting positions.. but then i didnt bring out any hardcopies of my resume.. so I decided to apply for the position thru internet... just trying my luck bah... ^_^

And also to get a present for Florence and her twin sister Alice. It's quite hard to choose a present for them sia.. I almost walked the whole of Suntec before deciding to get a pair of lucky charms as their present.... and shito.. forget to take a picture of it... sigh... >.<

Anyway I also visited a pet shop at the basement level... thinking to get a small gift for Ceejay (Florence new pet dog)... it was quite empty when i enter the store except there was three counter girls.. and so when i start browsing thru the racks... i saw this small rugby ball and when i tried to sqeeze it to test out the texture... it gives a loud skreeching noise... i was stunned abit by that.. but was even more stunned when one of the counter girl shouted... lolx.. she was also stunned by that sound too... and there goes some exchange of laughter inside the store... In the end.. i didnt buy anything as the gift was way too expensive to get.. sigh.. nowadays pet's toy are so expensive... but i still got a nice greeting of goodbyes by the counter girls when i stepped out the store... ^_^

Nothing for me to do in SunTec anymore.. so i decided to head back home.. and probably to play a game of basketball to get some sweat out of my body... but the court was fully occupied and i was so lazy to get out of the house... and so i stayed at home all the way till night time...

At night, I drove to met up with Florence and her bf... actually wanted to visit their new pet Ceejay and also pass the present for the twins... then i suggested to go East Coast to have some supper.. ahah... and even though it was quite late.. but they still agreed to go...
And next time.. please dont say that i'm afraid of dogs... i admit i used to scared of dogs last time.. but not now anymore... wahahah... =Pp

Sinful dinner

Mum & Dad went to Malaysia early in the afternoon with 2nd Bro to the new Jusco near the seafood restaurant that they often eat there... they must have enjoyed the fresh crabs... prawns... fishes with cousin they all... sigh.. i was too tired to joined them after my test this morning and just wanted to rest at home..

I dated Ai Fang and Zhong Qi to Tamp to have dinner together... initially i wanted to makan pizza hut de.. but then the queue was so long even the time was abt 8pm... sigh.. so we choose to eat the Pasta Mania instead... When I reached there.. I saw Lionel queueing up and Siying sitting down at the seat... haha.. so i talked to Lionel for awhile but then unable to talk to Siying coz she is sitting quite inside...

Right after our dinner.. i suggested to eat some ice cream as desserts.. so we went to century square Haagen Dazs for some ice cream... but in the end.. zhong qi wanted to have some Fondue instead... and so we ordered it... we were being served by a waitress that looks very very young... we guessed that she is about poly level.. but she is already a supervisor in the restaurant... so out of curiosity.. Qi asked that waitress (btw her name is Katherine) about her age and she answered back honestly that she was already 22... wow... that's quite surprising sia.. she looks so young...

Anyway.. Ai Fang used my iPhone to take some photos of the Fondue and herself... lolx.. she also took a pic of me and was taken very nice... personally i should say.. haha.. and really had a very full desserts with them... ^_^

One down and more to GO!~

The paper for OT was quite hard today.. i have been studying for the module since 1 weeks ago.. starting by writing down my own notes and even took leave on Friday just to study that subject... As usual, the memorizing part always on the last 2 days on all the theories... applications.. etc.. It is tough.. but i'm enduring it as much as i could...

Not sure how will i fare for this test.. this OT test worth 20% and it covers chapter 1-5... it's gonna be more for the exam... sigh.. its gonna be a test of how will i fare for my exam as well.. hopefully it turns well... but i'm not very confident about it...

So to calculate... there will be 1 more tests... 3 more assignments submissions and 3 more exam papers to complete... >.<
I went down to Telok Bengah again on Friday to meet up with Cindy again.. wanted to bring her to some nice place but she suggested the nearby ktv pub near her place.. for her.. i forgo slightly abit of my belief... which is drive no drink theories... and i really control my beer until only drink half a mug... what really amazed me was her singing...
she told me that's the first time she ever sing to other ppl except her bf... and through the conversation... she and her bf love to analyse how the songs should be sang... and that's what bring both of them together... now i understand why she love her bf that much.. or am I wrong about it?
Anyway.. on that very same day.. i met up with Cindy's bf the first time... he doesnt looks like the age he suppose to be.. and i'm somehow unwilling to go into the pub that her bf is in.. but she pulled and insisted me to go in.. sigh... I was quite surprised that she asked me who was the dream girl i mentioned in my facebook status.. and without realising i was saying about her... she got that blur meh??
i didnt manage to tell her on that night but i told her on the next day.. she was quite stunned and asked why it was her.. I did told her that it's all the feeling that she gave me whenever i met her.. but then i did mentioned that although she's my dream girl.. but doesnt mean that she have to be together with me... i hope that was clear for her and hopefully she arent affect by the tremor...
Hey girls out there... is it a tremor to you when you know that a guy are placing you as his dream girl? if so, how will you exactly feel?
